Insulin-loaded PLGA microspheres for glucose-responsive release.

Porous poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microspheres were prepared, loaded with insulin, and then coated in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and a novel boronic acid-containing copolymer [poly(acrylamide phenyl boronic acid-co-N-vinylcaprolactam); p(AAPBA-co-NVCL)]. Multilayer microspheres were generated using a layer-by-layer approach depositing alternating coats of PVA and p(AAPBA-co-NVCL) on th...

PEGylated apoptotic protein-loaded PLGA microspheres for cancer therapy

The aim of the current study was to investigate the antitumor potential of poly (D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) microspheres (PLGA MSs) containing polyethylene glycol (PEG)-conjugated (PEGylated) tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (PEG-TRAIL). PEG-TRAIL PLGA MSs were prepared by using a water-in-oil-in-water double-emulsion method, and the apoptotic activities of supernatants...

Formulation and Evaluation of Octreotide Acetate Loaded Plga Microspheres

Objective: The objective of the present work was to formulate and evaluate controlled release Octreotide acetate microspheres for subcutaneous administration for treating symptoms associated with metastatic carcinoid and vasoactive intestinal peptide tumors (VIPsecreting tumors) and acromegaly effectively and also to improve patient compliance with fewer side effects. Octreotide is a long actin...

Intra-arterial administration of adriamycin-loaded albumin microspheres for locally advanced breast cancer.

Regional chemotherapy is an attractive but underevaluated method of treating locally advanced breast cancer. We have combined two novel methods of targeting by delivering a single pulse of adriamycin-loaded albumin microspheres down a radiologically placed internal mammary artery catheter. A complete response was observed and prolonged local control achieved.
